Student Eligibility
Live Tutoring sessions are available only to current or previous subscribers to the website www.learnhebrewpod.com (“Learn Hebrew Pod” or the “Website”).
A prospective student who wishes to register for Live Tutoring sessions who has never been an active subscriber to the Website is required to first become an active subscriber to the Website by registering for any of the courses offered by the Website (including Beginner's First Steps) either by purchasing a subscription or by using a coupon.
Live Tutoring sessions are to be attended by only one student at a time. An additional student may join a Live Tutoring session only after receiving approval by a Website representative and the payment of an additional fee.
Teachers
Lessons will be conducted by one of the teachers from Learn Hebrew Pod’s audio lessons: Jonathan Sternberg, Eran Ben-Zvi, Liat Azar, Dan Inbar. A student may request that his or her sessions be conducted by a particular teacher; such request will be honored based upon teacher availability.
The content of lessons conducted by Liat Azar and Eran Ben-Zvi is limited to the following topics: Hebrew pronunciation, vocabulary, and reading.
Communication Methods
Live Tutoring sessions will be conducted via Skype. The student is solely responsible for creating the appropriate conditions for the session, including an Internet connection of sufficient speed and an active Skype user account (available free of charge through the website www.skype.com). The student is responsible for notifying the teacher of his or her correct Skype username prior to the sessions.
For Live Tutoring sessions with Jonathan Sternberg, a student may request that the sessions will be conducted via telephone in lieu of Skype. This option is available only for phone calls to landlines in the countries specified in Appendix A and/or to mobile phones in the countries specified in Appendix B. For a student who elects to have sessions conducted via telephone, the student is solely responsible for provision of a telephone line and for notifying the teacher of the telephone number he or she would like to use for the Live Tutoring sessions.
Recording
Live Tutoring sessions may not be recorded for any purpose, other than that of personal study by the student. (This includes audio and video recordings of any type, digital or analog.) By registering for Live Tutoring, the student unequivocally declares and commits that he or she will not share with any other person, online service, or website recordings of Live Tutoring sessions without the explicit written approval of a Website representative. The student bears sole responsibility for the non-distribution of recorded Live Tutoring sessions. By registering for Live Tutoring, the student agrees to liquidated damages of $20,000 per session should he or she be found to have engaged in the unauthorized distribution of Live Tutoring sessions.
Session Length
The length of each Live Tutoring session is 30 minutes. A student may request to combine two 30-minute sessions into one 60-minute session. (The fee for such 60-minute session shall be equal that for two 30-minute sessions.) In order to request a 60-minute session, the student must send an email making such request to contact@learnhebrewpod.com in advance of the requested session. Such a request must be approved in advance of the session by the teacher or a representative of Learn Hebrew Pod, subject to teacher availability.
Session Content
The content of the Live Tutoring sessions will be based on the study materials of the Learn Hebrew Pod program as they appear on the www.learnhebrewpod.com website. These study materials include the entire How to Read Hebrew course.
With the exception of sessions based on the How to Read Hebrew course, each session will be dedicated to the content of one specific lesson as appears on the Learn Hebrew Pod website. (Specifically, the content of a lesson on the Learn Hebrew Pod website consists of three audio MP3s, accompanying PDFs, and all the “Multimedia Kit” components available on the main page for each lesson on the Website--including all games, presentations, and quizzes appearing in that lesson.)
The student may select which lesson he or she wishes to cover during a Live Tutoring session by informing the teacher via email sent to contact@learnhebrewpod.com no less than one week prior to a scheduled session. Such email shall include the name and number of the lesson as it appears on the Website (or a request to cover a portion of the How to Read Hebrew course). If such email has not been received one week prior to the scheduled session, the teacher will choose the lesson to be covered during the session.
The content of each Live Tutoring session may include practice of the selected lesson's dialogue, monologue, and/or vocabulary; review of the conjugations, vocabulary, and reading presentations included in the lesson; discussion of the various grammar topics covered by the lesson; and/or practice of proper pronunciation and Hebrew accent, etc. In addition, the teacher will address any questions the student has regarding the above-mentioned content.
During the Live Tutoring sessions, the use of any other program, curriculum and/or study materials not taken directly from the Learn Hebrew Pod website or specifically recommended by the teacher will be permitted solely in accordance with the teacher’s discretion. The use of materials other than those included on the Learn Hebrew Pod website may also result in additional fee.
Sessions will be conducted in English, Hebrew or both, in accordance with the student’s and the teacher’s discretion.
Access to Study Materials
Payment of the Live Tutoring fee does not include any kind of subscription to the Learn Hebrew Pod website or any right or privilege to utilize any portion of the Website materials during the Live Tutoring sessions or after them.
As a current or previous Learn Hebrew Pod subscriber, the student is solely responsible for having access to any study materials (electronic or hard copy) which he or she might be interested in or required to utilize during the sessions.
If the student is not a current subscriber to the Learn Hebrew Pod website, he or she must have access to the relevant MP3 audio files and/or PDF transcripts of the lessons that he or she previously downloaded during the period of his or her prior subscription.
A student who is a current subscriber to the Learn Hebrew Pod website must have a subscription that includes access to the lessons to be covered during his or her Live Tutoring sessions and/or access to the MP3 audio files and/or PDF transcripts of such lessons that he or she previously downloaded during the period of his or her prior subscription.
In order to utilize the online games and presentations included in a specific lesson during his or her Live Tutoring session, a student must have a current subscription that includes access to the lesson that includes such games and presentations.

Payment of Live Tutoring fees by the student shall be made via credit card (MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discover) or through a PayPal account. Learn Hebrew Pod reserves the right to change the accepted methods of payment at any time. In certain circumstances, Learn Hebrew Pod and a student may agree upon a different, mutually acceptable, method of payment.
Scheduling of Live Tutoring Sessions
All sessions purchased as part of a package must be utilized within 180 days (approximately one half year) from the date of payment.
Immediately before or after the student’s purchase of a package, the date and time of each session will be scheduled by student and a Website representative either by phone or by email. A summary email, including all of the agreed-upon dates and times, will be sent by the Website representative to the student and must be confirmed by the student via return email.
Changes by Student
The agreed-upon dates and times of the sessions shall be considered final; however, a student is entitled to change up to twenty percent (20%) of the sessions' dates and times without additional charge. The following table summarizes the exact number of sessions that the student is entitled to change, based on the purchase of a specific package:

In order to request the change of a scheduled session’s date and/or time, the student must send the request via email to contact@learnhebrewpod.com no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start of such lesson. In the email, the student should request an alternate date and time for the lesson. Approval of such alternate date and time is subject to the teacher’s discretion and availability and will be confirmed with the student via return email. If the teacher does not approve the alternate date and time, a Website representative will contact the student either by phone or email to reschedule the session.
Once a rescheduled date and time is agreed upon by the teacher and the student and confirmed via email, any further request by the student to reschedule the same session shall be considered a separate change and shall count separately against the number of sessions the student is entitled to change.
Any lesson(s) cancelled or rescheduled by the student in excess of the number the student is entitled to change shall be forfeited, the lesson(s) shall not be eligible for rescheduling, and the fee for such lesson(s) shall not be refunded.
Changes by Teacher
The teacher may also change up to twenty percent (20%) of the sessions' dates and times. In order to initiate such a scheduling change, the teacher will send an email to the student no less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start of such lesson. In the email, the teacher will propose an alternate date and time for the lesson. Approval of such alternate date and time is subject to the student’s discretion, and the student should respond to the teacher via return email with approval or rejection of the proposed alternate time and date. If the student does not approve the alternate date and time, the teacher or a Website representative will contact the student either by phone or email to reschedule the session.
If the student wishes, he or she may request to keep the original date and time of the session but with an alternate teacher. Such a request is subject to approval or rejection by the alternate teacher or a Website representative based on the availability of the alternate teacher.
Once a rescheduled date and time is agreed upon by the student and the teacher and confirmed via email, any subsequent request by the student to reschedule that session shall be considered a change initiated by the student and shall count against the number of sessions the student is entitled to change.
The fees related to any lesson(s) required to be rescheduled by the teacher in excess of the number the teacher is entitled to change shall be refunded to the student in accordance with the refund provisions detailed below.
Refunds & Cancellations
After purchasing and remitting payment for Live Tutoring sessions, a student shall not be entitled to any refund or credit for sessions forfeited or cancelled by the student.
Learn Hebrew Pod reserves the right to cancel a full Live Tutoring package or any sessions remaining in a Live Tutoring package. The fees related to all sessions cancelled by Learn Hebrew Pod shall be refunded to the student based on the number of sessions remaining in the package multiplied by the per session cost as appears in the Live Tutoring Fees chart above.
By registering for Live Tutoring, the student agrees that any termination or cancellation of all or part of a Live Tutoring package by Learn Hebrew Pod shall not entitle the student to any compensation in excess of the fees paid by the student for the cancelled sessions (determined in accordance with the formula detailed above).
Any refund due to a student determined in accordance with the above provisions may be made via PayPal or other payment method, at Learn Hebrew Pod’s sole discretion.
Additional Terms & Conditions
In addition to these Terms & Conditions (related specifically to Live Tutoring), the student also agrees to all of the provisions contained in Learn Hebrew Pod’s general Terms of Use. In the case of any conflict between the provisions of these Terms & Conditions and Learn Hebrew Pod’s general Terms of Use, the provisions of these Terms & Conditions shall be controlling.
